Anna Kastello Faleskin, daughter of Anton and Anna Kastelic Kastello, came to the States when she was 9. Her parents then had a boarding house as well as a tavern, and one of the older boarders wanted to marry her. She had no interest in this relationship at all and therefore when a young man from Yugoslavia moved into the home a romance quickly developed and they were married shortly thereafter when Anna was only 15. Anna Faleskin is the mother of Babe Stachowiak, Matthew Kastello's niece.

Note*   News Tribune LaSalle Obituary: Roman J. Rimmele, Sr., 81, lifelong resident of LaSalle, died at 2:45 a.m., Saturday morning at the home of a daughter, Mrs. Stanley Jagodzinski, 1615 N. Hennepin St., culminating an illness of one year. Born in LaSalle, November 171854, and married Susan Blanche Pass April 3, 1877. Mrs. Rimmele died June 16, 1935.

Surviving 8 children: Mrs. Bert Palmer of Rock Falls, Charles Roman, Jr., Mrs. Charles Harbison, Mrs. Flossie Biederstedt, Mrs. Stan Jagodzinski, George Rimmele, Roy Rimmele, all of LaSalle: A brother Charles Rimmele, Chicago and a number of grand children survive. Four sons preceded him in death; Frank, William, theodore & Elmer. He had been residing at the home of his daughter since May. Funeral to be held Tuesday at 1:00 p.m., at residence, 1615 N. Hennepin. Rev. Lester Sprenger, LaSalle Methodist Church. Burial is Oakwood Cemetary. Pall bearers are grandsons of the deceased; Earl Rimmele, LeRoy Rimmele,
Robert Tidabach, Ralph Tidabach, Lloyd Palmer, Albert Palmer."

Surviving husband and children: Mrs. Blance Jagodzinski, Mrs. Bert Palmer, Rock Falls; Mrs. Margaret Harbison, Mrs. Flossie Biederstedt, Roman Rimmele, Jr., (This is Roman W.), Charles, George, Raymond Rimmele, LaSalle. Son Frank was killed in WW I and daughter Cecelia preceded her in death.

Funeral was at 2:00 p.m. at the Jagodzinski home. Pall bearers Robert Tidabach, Ralph Tidabach, Leroy Rimmele, Floyd Palmer, Albert Palmer & Earl Rimmele. Funeral Services will be held Tues at 2 PM from the home of the daughter Mrs. Jagodzinski, 1615 Sobieski St. The Rev. Lester Sprienger, pastor of the LaSalle Methodist Church wil be in charge. Obituary " FRANK K. RIMMELE DIES IN BATTLE: LEFT LAST MAY
A telegram from the War department bearing the signature of Adjutant General Harris, this afternoon brought word to Mr. and Mrs. Roman rimmele, Sr., 125 Hennepin Street, that their son Frank Rimmele ahd been killed in action in France.

According to the message, the young man was slain in battle on Saturday, october 5, but as it is the custom with the first announcement there were no details. HAD BEEN OVER THE TOP For the last six or seven weeks, Mr. and Mrs. Rimmele had had no word from their son and they feared that he might have fallen on the field. At noon today they were discussing the subject and less than two hours later a message confirmed their fears.

In the last letters received from him, particularly in one to his sister, Mrs. Bert Palmer, Frank told of having gone over the top. He remarked that he came back from that expedition without a scratch.

In another letter to his mother he told her not to worry, that they all would be home soon. LEFT HERE LATE IN MAY Frank left LaSalle with the contingent which departed for Camp Gordon, GA, late in May, several days before Memorial Day. He was placed in a replacement group and in less than two months was on his way overseas. Several others from this city, who were in the same contingent, having been wounded in the fighting. The young man was 25 years old and prior to entering the military service he was employed at the LaSalle Portland Cement Co. He was well known in LaSalle."
