From North Carolina, was a soldier in the War for Independe nce. After war went to Kentucky. One source says that George came from Germany whena lad wi th two older brothers. They landed in Carolina where Georg e began working on a farm. The man he worked for gave hi m a horse, saddle, and other equipment to join British army . During his first battle his horse was killed and he imme diately joined the Continental Army with which he fought un til the end of the war. Fought in the Battle of Eautaw Spr ings and Battle of Blue Licks in Kentucky on August 19, 178 2. After war became a wagon-maker. Came back and worked f or previous employer. Was a farmer in Madison County, Kentucky. Buried near son David, there is no marker for George. |
