Note*   John worked at various jobs while growing up including chau ffeur work and two years with the Ringling Brothers Circu s as an elephant handler. He was a trucker in the Chicago a rea during his early adult life. John married Elsie Liljeho rn, however the marriage was unsuccessful. they had one son , William John. John came south in the thirties and was dri ving a bus for Georgia Coach Lines when he met Agnes who wa s working as a waitress in Thomasville, Ga. After their mar riage they lived in Georgia, Tampa, St. Petersburg, and Chi cago before moving to Orlando in 1947. John drove a semi tr uck for Allied and Mayflower. In 1949 their house burned an d they moved to Miami for about nine months. They had retur ned to Orlando and rebuilt their home. In 1950 he was invol ved in a collision in Missippi when a car skidded out of co ntrol and struck his truck. He was not expected to recove r after receiving burns on 90% of his body. He did recove r and worked as a warehouse foreman for Joiner Mayflower fo r 8 years. In 1959 he bought a truck and leased to Mercur y Motor Express for several years hauling freight prior t o his retirement. He was a large man who was very strong pr ior to his accident. John was well known for his love of hu mor and his sternness. However he was sensitive and sincere. Agnes grew up on a farm between Pavo and Coolidge, Ga. Sh e worked as a waitress and homemaker thorough most of thei r marriage. For several years she worked in the warehouse w ith John as a clerk. She was well known for her cooking abi lity and homemaking skills. The births of their children we re spread over 22 years. Their Orlando residence were locat ed on Chickasaw Trail, 538 S. Eola, and 503 Mayfair Circle. They attended church at Downey Memorial, Union Park; Firs t Baptist Church, Union Park; and Conway Baptist Church, Or lando. John died from a heart attack he suffered while unloadin g a load of trash at the county dump. Agnes moved to Thomasville, Ga. and Titusville Fl. after Jo hn's death. She then moved to Panama City, Fl in 1972. Sh e was briefly married to Chris Booten, Joe, and George Jone s.
